Author Gary Taubes has become convinced it isn't the dietary fat that is causing the explosion of obesity, diabetes, heart disease and hypertension, but the sugar. Mariah Carey On 'The X Factor': Star Confirmed By Simon Cowell
Slowly but surely, Simon Cowell's star-studded "X Factor" cast is coming together.
Rumors have circulated for months about who will join the ex-"American Idol" man's new British import singing competition, but since the announcement of producer LA Reid as one of the show's three judges, Cowell has gone silent with any confirmations, offering only a shortlist of candidates. He shot down the reports that Mariah Carey was set to be one of the judges, citing her pregnancy, but during a recent radio interview, he admitted that the star would have a role on the show.
"I think Mariah will have a role on the TV live shows," Cowell confirmed to host Jackie Brown. "I met her recently and she was on great form. And her idea was to be the judge of the judges, which only Mariah could come up with. She'll be involved in some form. I literally adore her. I love her to bits."

Want to have some fun with your makeup? Practice with your liquid eyeliner and create a double-winged eye look. You’ll instantly feel more beautiful.
Highlight the inner corners of your eyes as well as your brow bones to open up your eyes. Next, you’ll need to take any matte colored eyeshadow and apply it on the crease of your eyes. This will beautifully add depth to your eyes.
Get your liquid eyeliner and do a few practice strokes at the back of your hand. If you feel confident enough, place your pinkie finger on your cheek to stead your hand while applying the liner. Start from the middle and extend the liner out and upward. Retrace the line from the front to the middle.
Add the second wing. Make sure the lines are equally distanced- not too far and not too near. The lines should have an elegant curve and not stiff. Check and see if both wings look equal on both eyes.
Once done, take your liquid eyeliner and apply mini eyelashes on your bottom lash line. Make your strokes fast and short. Afterward, curl your lashes and apply both on the upper and lower eyelashes.
The double winged eye will look perfect with dewy cheeks and soft, pink lips.

Laura Mercier’s Shimmer Lipsticks have a rather strong floral scent to them, while several of her other lip products are heavily vanilla scented (not sure why these are different). I get three to four hours of wear (about average), and I find these neither drying nor particularly moisturizing, but they are comfortable to wear. Sandcastle applied evenly and easily without having to layer on a lot to get opaque color.

Calorie counts can now be made with a flick of your iPhone. Meal Snap, by health and fitness brand DailyBurn ($2.99 on iTunes), allows users to calculate calories for any food item in the app's 500,000-item database, from an apple to a bag of chips, simply by snapping its picture. Users can then choose to log it into a food diary, to keep track of daily intake, or share findings on Twitter, if you're a lifestyle pusher.
